More output

There’s an interesting myth going around these days about focus. Frequently, people suggest that in order to get something done, you must hunker down and work on one thing at a time. I myself have been a culprit of this.

Interestingly, the research shows quite the opposite. Of all creatives, those who have contributed the most valuable output are invariably the ones who produce the most output. For example, all inventors who have significant patents have many more patents which have little impact.

In fact, even among creatives who have consistently produced valuable output, they have produced the greatest number of valuable outputs during times in their lives where they produced the most output in general.

Sounds like we all need a bit of a wake up call. Shit doesn’t get done unless we get shit done.
