Leadership and Creativity

As per the Journal of Creative Behavior, Volume 17, 1983, formal education can be detrimental to leadership and creativity.

Creativity increases with formal education until one attains a bachelors degree. Beyond this point, it takes a steep decline. Once the average person gets a PhD, their creativity has dipped below that of an individual with no education at all.

Leadership is even worse. The relationship between formal education and leadership is linear and inversely proportional. Even graduating from secondary school has reduced your leadership capacity by one third.

If school is supposed prepare people for the future, it isn’t working. Whoops.
